This Christmas, she feels safe.
Women arrive at our refuges with almost nothing. Often at night. Often with their children, and whatever they could carry.
By December, many are in a new city, away from everyone they know, trying to make the day feel normal for a child who has just lost their home and does not understand why. A small amount of help from people nearby changes that day completely.
